It’s September and you guys know what that means. Wedding Season! Pretty much every person in my family has a September anniversary. Don’t worry because next week we are talking about anniversary gifts. We got married in June and boy was it hot. It’s hard to decide what to wear for weddings and what is appropriate. There are a lot of texts between us girls asking that age-old question, “what are you wearing?” In today’s post on NW I’m pairing some of my favorite wedding outfit ideas with beautiful jewelry from an amazing family established jewelry store in Nashville, Grogan’s Jewelery by Lon.
Why is it so hard to decide what to wear to a wedding? First off you definitely don’t want to upstage the bride or wear white. A definite no-no. Also, make sure you check the invitation so you’re aware of the attire that is expected. Also, I should note to pay close attention to the invitation for the wedding colors so you don’t get mistaken for the bridal party. I can’t even tell you how often this hoaxed at my own wedding especially since it was spring and my colors were coral.
It can be tricky to dress for fall or spring because the weather is so unpredictable. I would opt for an outfit you can pair with a sweater so if it’s cold, you’re set but if it’s warm you can leave it off. Honestly, jewelry plays a key role in dressing your outfit for whatever the event may be. The right earrings or necklace etc. can be the perfect final touch and can dress your outfit up or down. Grogan’s has such a wide selection of jewelry from day wear to high-end cocktail attire.
This OTS dress works well for an outdoor spring or summer wedding (even September weddings in the South) paired with a statement necklace like this one from Royal Chain Group or earrings if you wear your hair up.
This classic dress is perfect for a daytime wedding. I would pair it with something delicate like THIS necklace by Phillip Gabriel along with these gorgeous teardrop stone earrings.
This bohemian maxi is perfect for low-key weddings, plus this print is beautiful. I would pair this look with a fun tribal necklace or layer the necklaces because it has a deep neckline. THIS boho choker necklace by Royal Chain Group would be perfect for an outfit like this. I would also pair it with a chunky ring like this dragonfly pearl beauty.
This vibrant pink dress is so fun and flirty for a beach wedding. A great pair of statement earrings like these Royal Chain Group textured earrings make this outfit complete.
If you’re going for a sexier wedding look this tropical fitted dress is perfect. I’m loving these fringe statement earrings by Royal Chain Group.
I would wear this floral maxi dress for a daytime wedding (paired with a bralette next time haha). I love the floral print and how the dress flows. It’s very romantic. I would pair it with an adjustable necklace so you could wear it as a choker or long to flow with your neckline. Even a simple cuff like THIS would look amazing.
I love the lavender color of this suede dress and it’s a solid cocktail dress choice for either a daytime or evening wedding. The cutout detail on the back won me over. As elegant as this type of dress is, it’s also simple enough that you can pair it with different kinds of jewels. I LOVE these statement earrings with a classic dress.
You could also rock a cuff bracelet like THIS one with a dress like this. A solid dress is very easy to build on with your accessories.
This preppy OTS all-American striped print (perfect for a warm daytime wedding) would look gorgeous paired with this classic diamond pendant.
Can we talk about the sleeves on this gorgeous orange dress first? Absolutely perfect for a fall wedding. This type of dress with embellished sleeves would look best with a layered or long necklace like this beauty because earrings and bracelets would be too busy.
This smokeshow floral and fitted number would be appropriate for an evening wedding. It’s sexy but subtle. I would pair it with a statement ring like THIS one and THIS one.
I love the lace and femininity of this greyish purple dress. You can edge it up with some black studded heels or flats or keep the girly flow with some delicate wedges or heels. I would pair a dress like this with a soft necklace and a pair of classic earrings like these gorgeous pearls.
I know you guys have heard about my love for jumpsuits. The best part is they are 100% acceptable for cocktail attire and events now. The one above is one of my favorites. I love the lace detail, the satin material and the soft pink color. I think it would be gorgeous with some nude heels paired with a subtle statement earring like these twisted drop earrings.
Last but not least this strapless, gaucho jumpsuit is perfectly paired with a pop of color. It would look super stylish with the Stardust line from Grogan’s Jewelers by Lon. I love this ring and these stunning earrings.
I hope you guys have found some great outfit inspiration in this post for your upcoming weddings. If you live in Nashville make sure to check out Grogan’s Jewelers by Lon for your jewelry needs at the Cool Springs Mall location. You can also shop online.
